IS IT WRONG TO BE IN LOVE WITH A DRESS? Well I’m in love with this beauty and I’ll sing it’s praises to anyone. Bright neon pink Aztec inspired embroidery springs to life against a backdrop of crisp white, let me tell you this dress turned heads and attracted compliments. I wore this to lunch today and even the waitress scribbled down the details…she was in love too.
When the team from Sequins and Sand sent me this *dress to try I did a happy dance, I’ve loved neon since the 80’s and have fond memories of white hi top canvas boots with neon laces, so this dress was right up my alley. I’m wearing the XL of this ‘Ollie & Max’ dress because I love the swish and roominess…makes me feel like a bohemian queen, a chubby one but Queen all the same 🙂
Cotton viscose is cool and just screams summer, I love it but beware it’s sheer so add a layering slip for modesty. The fabric is delicate so if you’re curvy and have a tum or larger thighs you might like to consider going up a size, think about when you are sitting you will want some extra room so you don’t stretch the seams ( yeah, I’ve done that plenty of times).
There is a little slit at either side of the hem which does help a girl out when in the sitting position…great design!
The arms have a button closure 3/4 sleeve, perfect if you have bigger arms like me, I wish more designers would consider that button closure. Wear the tassel neck tie in a bow or leave it open for a more relaxed look. I added a longer necklace to change the scoop neckline to a V neck (suits me better). I’m 5 ft 7 (170cm) and this dress falls to my knee so plenty of coverage to wear as a dress….and what a pretty dress it is. Did I tell you I love it?…oh I did… 🙂
This Aztec number ranges in size from 12 to around a 24…but personally I would say XL would be a 20-22 ( I’m an 18) and retails for $149.95. I’m a lucky girl to have it gifted to me but would pay for it in a flash. I’ve teamed it with black strappy wedges and a black necklace…because black loves neon and makes it pop! You could team some blingy sandals with it and a fab boho tote for a more relaxed look.
How’s your summer wardrobe looking? Could it do with a pop of colour?
Til next time
