Purchasing makeup can be daunting, how many times do we fork over dollars (lots of dollars), get the product home and feel deflated because it just doesn’t do what it promised?
For me, too many times! I’m a bit precious about my lashes, losing them to chemo will do that to a girl and over the past year or so I’ve tried quite a few mascara. Some clump, or are thick, some crumble, some make my lashes brittle, and then there’s those that promise to lengthen and just don’t.
‘ve noticed ModelCo on the shelves in my local Woolworth’s and I’ve dabbled with a few of their glosses, but somewhere in my brain I rationalise that purchasing makeup from a supermarket somehow is going to give me an inferior product.
WRONG. A few months ago I heard Sam Armytage from Sunrise mention that she loves this Model Co mascara so I paid the $20 and purchased it. Far out, I normally pay more than double that for mascara but this awesome shiny pink tube was doing the trick…well almost.
I was feeling pretty happy with how this fat brush of mascara went on and wasn’t brittle, didn’t make my lashes snap off, no spillage on my face, no colour transfer. Then a few weeks later I spied this heated eyelash curler in woolworths. I know right! Who knew such a thing existed. It was a game changer!
I haven’t used an eyelash curler for 20 years and certainly wouldn’t brave a regular one as I have visions of my lashes getting pulled out. After chemo my lashes grew back very very fair and stubby…yeah, stubby lashes LOL So I paid the sale price ($5) for the lash curler, popped in a battery ( from the TV remote) and gave it a whirl.
Far out…sign me up!!! I love this thing!!
Turn it on, wait 60 seconds and then comb it through your lashes.
Hold it at the base for 30 seconds then comb through.
Yeah, that easy. I did it once, applied my mascara ( which went on so smoothly) and then another swipe over with the curler wand. The heat bends your lashes & warms the mascara.
My lashes came out fab and stayed that way ALL day long, I’m in love. I added a little teal liner and was done. I can’t wait to do it all again. Have you used a heater lash curler?
Til next time,
