Don’t you love those days where you get to do ALL the things. You know, those things that you have been putting off. Today I did ‘most’ of the things, ok, ‘Some’ of the things… but the point is I did ‘things’.
Like taking down the sheer curtains on the lounge room windows and washing them. Done!
I also got around to cleaning this mirror that stands on the floor and wiping down the leaves of my very sad Fiddle Leaf Fig.
Then I dusted and wiped down all the books that I like to stack around rooms.
And threw out the dead flowers in this vase, replacing them with retro ‘Mother in laws tongue’ instead. I like how it vibes well with the vintage chair and cushion ?
Onto the dining room and I threw a fresh table cloth on, then ditched the fruit that was funky from the fruit bowl. Funky fruit because I have teenagers who have forgotten what fruit is actually for.
Dusted everything here, and even de cluttered a little. It kills me to declutter because I like collecting all the things, but it always looks better afterwards…for a while.
I even got down and sorted all the platters stored behind these doors.
More books and more dusting….
Then I dug deep and pulled out the microfibres cloths to do the glass, including this lamp. I was on a freakin roll!
Oh, don’t think it was all about the inside because nuh uh, I lost my mind and headed into the garden!!!
Well, first I washed and hung out all the work shirts for my huz, such a good wifey move…because I never hang washing! How good is this Autumn sunshine? It’s superb, that’s how good it is 🙂
Back to the garden, I planted this Agave, in fact I planted two!
And this little succulent, all given to us by a kind neighbour. Do you know your neighbours? Go say hi because neighbours give us a sense of community 🙂
I didn’t hold back, I also got busy potting up some cuttings, fingers crossed they take roots.
After doing ‘some of the things’ it was time to take care of me. I finally got around to giving my face a good cleanse with this *QV foaming cleanser, followed by a dab of *QV oil free moisturiser and I gotta tell you my face felt smooth and fresh. It also looked matt not shiny thanks to this new formulation. I even followed up with a cuppa. aahhh 🙂
Oh, what’s that, you like the headband and think it’s cute? Yeah, me too. A velcro head wrap is genius? want one? Well you’re in luck, thanks to Ego QV I have five gift packs to giveaway.
Each pack (valued at $ 29.50) includes the Ego QV gentle foaming cleanser, Ego QV oil free day moisturiser and a bonus fancy head wrap. QV face products are fragrance and colour free, dermatologically tested and gentle. I like that a lot 🙂
All you need to do is tell me what one ‘thing’ you would treat yourself to if you had the time. Is there something you skip from your beauty routine?

Right, now I’m off to find the nail polish remover because my toes are shabby, aaand there will be NO photo of my feet. Eewww.
Til next time,
Jen x

Hi Jenny! I would love to win this for my mum! She does so much for everyone else and deserves to have a little pamper! If I won I would use it to give my mum a little ‘facial’ she is the best X
That’s so lovely Erin X
Well done and doesn’t it feel good??? I have to admit I am one of those people who don’t mind housework I know sad isn’t it? But to see a clean house it gives me a sense of peace , but what I don’t ever seem to get the time or inclination to fix are my nails! In fact you have inspired me to get a manicure tomorrow ?
I used to be a neat freak but since cancer I just prioritise differently, and some days I just don’t have the energy. Today was a good day. Enjoy your manicure Veronica X
I love this post. You’ve inspired me to do a couple of those things tomorrow. My poor bookshelf is looking very cluttered and neglected.
One thing I often skip in my beauty routine is body exfoliating. My daily 4 minute shower leaves no room for extras.
Exfoliating makes such a big difference to our skin. I’m currentlybusingbabfeq different facial exfoliaters, stay tuned and I’ll report back. X
I would have a facial!! Oh and if they could throw in a head massage is be in heaven. Pampering just never makes it onto my to do list.
Facials are always fabulous ?
Hi Jen. I so often think that a deep cleansing mask would do my skin wonders but I never seem to remember to a) buy one or b) actually apply it if I do happen to have have one (that has been forgotten in the back of the vanity cabinet for months). I must admit I’m good at cleansing and moisturising everyday but a good mask cleanse? Not so good at those.
I use one from LUSH, mask of magniminty ?
Love this post! Thanks to you I have decided that next Saturday will be my day of getting “stuff” done! My list is huge…. So I will write a list during the week and start ticking them off. Thanks for the motivation!
The one thing I need to treat myself to is a pedicure! I haven’t had one since last year and my poor feet are in dire need of some TLC! Second to that would be a walk along the beach. I just haven’t found the time (last time I went was January) but I always feel sooo much better when I do get that fresh air.
A barefoot walk on the beach will give your feet some exfoliating and feel good ?? good luck with your list Genna X
Good on you Jen.
Yesterday I spent all day out of the house running errands, today was inside. Banana cake from the ‘gone black’ bananas, sweeping up the start of the autumn leaves outside, throwing out some old shoes and five loads of washing, It never stops does it. I’d love some time out for a facial, I thinks it’s been well over a year since my last one.
You’ve had a winning weekend too Fuona. I always leave it too long between facials too.
If you come home one day and all your books are gone, it was me! I love stacks of books.
I’d add a pedicure to my routine – it’s so nice to have that time in the chair, and a foot massage is one of life’s great pleasures!
Those massage chairs are the business Annette. We don’t own many books (gave them away due to very little storage) but I do like small stacks of coffee table books that I collect when I’m on holidays xx
I would treat mum to lunch more often! We live 3.5 hours away from each other and it’s always a mad rush catching up when we do. Just today (whilst cleaning my office) I found her birthday card (from us) with $100 she left here months ago. First thing she said was you keep it, you need it more than me!! How generous is she?! Of course I refused and we planned what she’d buy for herself with it. I think a boozy lunch to thank mum is def on the cards ?
Awww your mum rocks Jo. I definitely think a boozy lunch or pamper session is on the cards xx
I’m glad you enjoyed your ‘me’ time. My ‘me’ time usually consists of a good house clean from the kitchen all the way through to the bedrooms in one day but one of these days, after the self-satisfying house clean, I would love to have a long tub and a good glass of bubbles. It’s on my list of to-dos but hasn’t yet made it to the top of the list.
Oh I would ditch the cleaning jo and head straight to the tub’ ??
Definitely a facial! With 2 small boys (3.5 and 1) at home, not to mention a 40 year old husband (who technically would qualify as the third child!!), working and running our household, I often miss out on doing small things for myself. There’s normally the pitter patter of little feet in the shower or bathroom with me, so it’s a case of slop on the soap, rinse off with water and away we go! I love QV – it’s been our go to soap/cleanser for our boys with sensitive skin since birth! Xx
We really need to be ok with taking care of us first, if we are looked after then we have more to give. I used QV all through chemo, it’s the business ??
At the moment I’m skipping a lot in my beauty routine as I transition from my old products to super sensitive allergy friendly products. Ego QV has become my new best friend in skin and hair care. I’m desperately in need of a facial. Oh and I’d love a manicure too! Did some tree trimming/culling yesterday and hands are suffering now. Love your home styling!
Ohhhh gardening is so unkind to hands, I’ve been doing a little lately and between the dirt, cuts and rough skin a good hand cream is essential.
Hi I didn’t know you had a blog. You probably didn’t know I do too. Mutton_Style here from IG.
I think your ‘clutter ‘ is very pretty. Love the yellow pieces. So cheerful. Those get it all done days are so satisfying. Like doing a tax return finally. We put our washing out first time this spring.
Love the springtime! I’ll have to take a peek at your blog Annemarie x
I love spending girly time with my daughter who lives at uni away from me, so, I would treat myself and her to a facial and eyebrow tidy up. She has amazing eyebrows but doesn’t take time to keep them amazing. My eyebrows are not amazing thanks to over plucking so need all the help I can get!
Girly time spent together sounds brilliant Carolyn x
My feet and toes need a good old fashioned scrub and tidy up ..I just can’t do it like the professionals do ..so I don’t do it !! Crazy logic
I’m a bit like you, although the last pedicure I had ruined my nails so now I kinda have to do my own ?
Wow Jen you were on a roll, it’s such a great feeling when you accomplish something like that its rejuvenating. I’ll need a week to get all the crap I’ve got going on here. I just need some home time. I did strip my chair today though. I would love to be in you give away Jen thanks Maz ?
Maz a little furniture restoration is something I used to do a lot of, so satisfying ?
Hi Jen, I’d love to win this for my friend Robyn we are on our little committee trying to stop a nuclear waste dump here in NSW and were committed to this because we love our little community. We have given it our all and were both struggling financially, emotionally and mentally therefore pampering has been out of the question due to all these factors plus my friend is a sheep grazier trying to run a sheep stud while doing all this for so many. Something like this would mean the world to her. I think she’s the most dedicated hardworking woman I know. I feel blessed to know her.
You are both inspirations ❤️
I love those days! It’s always great the next morning when you get out of bed and then see all the work you did and it all looks so lovely, and you say “I’m going to keep it like his forever”… That’s me anyway!
As for my beauty routine, I never wash my face. I rinse with water, but have never found a cleanser that doesn’t dry me out, or leave me feeling tight and itchy! I wear makeup everyday so I know I should but I don’t, and then every morning after my shower I have mascara panda eyes, which I just put new foundation over to wipe the black rings away. My Daighyer uses QV for her sensitive skin, might have to check out their face cleansers too! x
*daughter!!
Heidi you should totally give QV a try x
Love that energy…I would have a hair cut, an actual style cut, havent had one in years. My hair has gone extremely thin from illness and medications and keep putting it off in case I go bald. Just need some me time to feel better about myself……even a foot massage would be sooooo lovely
A great haircut will not only make you feel better but also be fabulous at camouflaging thin hair. X
Hi Jen!
The one thing I always skip from my beauty regime is removing my makeup before bed! Sometimes I remember, but usually, working until the early hours, sleep usually wins!
I would love to take better care of my skin, with a regular mask, start some dry brushing & stop being slack & go to bed with a clean face 🙂
I’m guilty of it occasionally too Stacey x
Aww Jenni the thing I’m hanging out for the most is a massage I have knots in all places and need to destress. Work has been tough the last 2 months and I need to take time out for me. I always get my nails and feet done but need to massage the body. xx
Me too Jane, I have one booked for Thursday. It’s been too kind X
I need to make space in the fullness of my mind to remember to be ‘kind’ to myself. I find time, and make time to be kind to my friends.. But like most women I forget to be kind to myself.
Fill yourself up first Barbara, it’s so important xx
Loved looking at all your lovely pics!!!! What I don’t take time out for is a good muscle soak in the tub!!!! Being defence I wish I could go back to one of homes that had the most amazing bath!!!! It was a treat for me to float around while I was pregnant at the time, such a peaceful, soothing thing for our bodies x
There’s something special about a bath Kylie ?
Your house looks fab! I love your decor!
If I could do one thing it would be have a pedicure! 9 weeks since i fractured my foot it refractured so another 12 weeks that will be 21 weeks with no pedicure!
Also if I had time to add something else extra I would look straighten my hair everyday I’m so lazy ?
Thanks Amelia ? Wow 21 weeks is full on! I hope it flys by, thankfully the cooler weather is coming . Book that pedi in, you’ll be well due X
I love how much you got done today! I have three kids give and under plus I work, I would love to give myself a facial! It’s literally been five years I think since my last one! ???
You are definitely due Danielle x
Hi, Jenny! I would love to win a pack for my clients at Mudgee Disability Support Services. We are planning a beauty and grooming day, and I know they would be over the moon to receive one!
Thank you 🙂
Brigid you’re a winner please email me jenni@stylingcurvy.com
Would love to pop on a face pack and put my feet up
Delightful!
Love your blogs! I’m really good at my facial routine, not so good with moisturising my body and absolutely useless at looking after my hands. My hands fall apart at the change of seasons, so badly they split and bleed. It’s been really hard to find a hand cream to combat it but my local chemist swears by heel balms! I use Ellgy brand, smells lovely and heals them overnight. QV is a wonderful brand, I buy them for my daughter as she has sensitive skin and now my son uses it as well. Win-win!!
Thanks Linda. I know how you feel. I have old hairdresser hands that crack in the winter. Nothing like a good nourishing hand treatment ?
Hi Jenni, I would have a badly needed pedicure and one day soon a massage (i hope) to eases the aching shoulders and neck.
I had a massage this week , badly needed and helped ?
I admit I’ve been getting very slack and it’s probably easier to tell the one thing I do in my beauty regime (which shouldnt’ be allowed to be call beauty or regime). I moisturise my face, that’s it! The first thing I would treat myself to would be to exfoliate my face and it would probably sing to me…
Trish you are a winner! Please email me jenni@stylingcurvy.com
