Do you know what a bikini body looks like? Well, it’s the body that’s IN the cossie…like mine! If you’ve been living life on the sidelines and staying away from the cossie then sista, stick with me.
This is your summer, you know the one where you actually enjoy yourself and get involved in ALL the water fun and give no shits about what others think of you. It’s time to play with your kids ‘in’ the pool, taste the salt water ‘on’ your lips and love that body of yours ‘more’.
No more ‘ifs or buts’, just. bloody. do. it.
My body is scarred, lumpy, bumpy, pudgey, dimply….and at 45 it’s keeping me alive, thank goodness! These pics aren’t edited or airbrushed, in some light I look pretty fab (less lumpy and bumpy) and in other light (see below)..well it shows it all!
I talk all the time about body confidence and #cossie confidence but the short story is this…you’re a long time dead so bloody live while you’re alive. Got it? good 🙂
Now, let’s chat about my sunset paddle yesterday, finally my skin got wet and a thin film of salty crust formed on my skin. My first swim of the season YAY 🙂
Oh, and in a frilled bandeau black bikini from Swimsuits For All, it’s cute hey.
The bikini has a bottom that has excellent coverage, doesn’t dig in and feels fab. The underwire bikini top comes with removable straps, so of course I ditched them 🙂 Even with my DD’s the bandeau kept my boobs ‘up where they belong’ and the frill gave me some extra confidence.
My boobs are a bit lopsided and one does not look like the other, because they’re reconstructed after a double mastectomy. I’m cool with how they look but in a bikini a little patern or a ruffle just gives me an extra hit of confidence.
You know what else gives me confidence? A mesh sarong and a rashie.
This Paradiso rashie is a new one from Sunsoaked swimwear and has a UPF rating of 50 which blocks 98% of the suns harmful and ageing uV rays. It’s also leaps and bounds ahead of the others in the style stakes.
A rashie made from Italian fabric with a stunning tropical print and design features like a longer sleeve, thumb hole, zip front, pilling resistant, two way stretch and moisture wicking. It’s available in sizes 8-24 and can be worn in the water or while exercising in the sun.
Whatever it takes ladies…do whatever it takes to get in the cossie this summer because it feels way better than living on the sidelines…no bullshit.
If you’re sharing your swimwear pics on social media I would love you to use my hashtag #yourbodyconfident, it is a fabulous way to empower other women no matter their size or age 🙂
Have you got a cossie? Tried a rashie?
