Gawd it’s hot here in Adelaide this weekend with the Mercury hitting 40deg and the air conditioning is doing overtime. This time last weekend it was the same, and I was hanging out with Kerry from Harlow at the Gilles St markets. Kerry flew over to visit family, have her hair cut, meet with some new stockists and hit the markets so she could meet all of you. I just happened to be lucky enough to tag along too!
We caught up for brunch late in the week which was scrummy…2 women who love a chat and a coffee and the hours flew by. Kerry also has exciting news for the Adelaide ladies, Harlow is now being stocked at ‘Who I Choose To Be’ on Jetty Rd Glenelg so you can pop in and the lovely Brenda and Lesley can hook you up with a new outfit.
On Sunday the temps hit 42 degrees I know right, since when was I living in a desert?! We hit the bustling Giles Street markets and we’re thrilled to meet some of you! I loved seeing the range on all of you and lots of happy ladies left with parcels under their arms.
You guys are brave, trying on denim jeans in that heat in a portable change room! The jeans flew off the shelf and it made me curious, I had to try them on…holy moly the Paint it black jeans are freakin awesome. True skinny leg, great tummy coverage and they made my arse look pretty bloody good.
Popsicles made locally from organic fruit were consumed and the esky under the table filled with water and lemon soft drink came in very handy (thanks Kerry’s dad!)…did I tell you it was hot?
Kerry bought along her new jewellery range and the adjustable rings were a hit with the ladies liking a ring that can fit chubby fingers. I have big wide hands and finding rings, bracelets and watches to fit is a bit of a nightmare. Seriously, who else finds this an issue? Can suggest a good watch brand that caters for larger wrists? I’d love to know.
Kerry’s family and friends popped by for a chat and some fashion supporting their girl and exploring the markets. Early afternoon I had date with my mister so I left Kerry and her sister to enjoy icy fruit smoothies, as soon as I opened the car door the air conditioning hit me…couldn’t get in quick enough!!
It was so great to spend time with you Kerry, love your big picture and love your clothes. Thanks also for letting me borrow a few of your pics of the day. You’re a top chick! Gilles St markets runs on the first and third Sunday of each month from October to May and from June til September it’s on the third Sunday of the month only. The next market will be Sunday March 1st and is worth checking out…the live DJ and scrummy food are an added bonus!
