Mothers Day is a day when we can all appreciate being a Mum, appreciate the maternal life force in our life or just hi 5 another mother for making it through another day. It’s also a day for the sprog we raise to bloody well appreciate us.
Whether it’s with a kiss, a well deserved sleep in, a sticky fingers hug, doing what they are told, with a gift…or maybe all of the above, Mother’s Day means different things for all mums. For me the focus is just on my own boys, when they were little it was all about chuppa chups, bed socks and macaroni jewellery.
As they have grown we celebrate with a lunch, the odd gift and no housework for me. That last bit is the best gift everrrrr!
As with all Hallmark holidays like Christmas and Father’s Day I do like to treat myself to something ace, how can I not? YES, even on Fathers Day I find myself buying treats just for me 🙂
There’s so much to love in the shops around Mother’s Day, all gift wrapped and looking so pretty. Do you like to pick yourself up a special gift too?
I don’t often make a Mother’s Day list but a few well dropped hints along the way always helps and ensures I am presented with something I actually like. It’s a tricky time for me as my birthday always falls the same week as Mothers Day so one event tends to be a non event, it varies from year to year but this year my birthday is the day before Mothers Day so I may just get lucky and have a 48 hour festival of ‘me’.
Because I will be receiving I also want to give, so here’s a list of all the things I’m crushing on right now, read closely because some of my items are also to giveaway, I know right, that means presents for YOU!!
Here we go…

SEQUINS AND SAND PARVATI PANTS (value $89.95)
Sequins and Sand are an online store brimming with quality swimwear, travel and resort wear. All pieces are selected on ease of wear, quality and price. Sequins and Sand aim to offer a broad range of sizes and style and is a business I will always recommend for its quality, service and product.
I’ve put together a little travel capsule wardrobe that will see you through casual and dressier occasions at home or when travelling.
PARVATI PANT I have one pair of these striking animal print pants to give away. These pants are a fine crepe and feel light to wear, They feature a tapered leg – for shape, dropped crotch – with panel inset for a great fall, draw string waist and pockets finished off beautifully with black tassels, elastic waist at the back and slouchy pockets.
To score your own pair of Parvati pants just tell me if you are S/M or M/L and where you would wear these babies.
*The Isle of Mine Parvati wrap ($39.95) is a do more with less resort and travel piece that will change a look in an instant. We all love animal print (right?) and I love the versatility of this very light long vest (cape) that can be rolled and worn as a scarf and wrap.
Around the pool, throw it over your cossies for a fabulous glam cover-up, or pop it over a layered winter outfit for some drama! Personally if I was travelling I would also twist it to wear as a scarf.
*Rococo luxe for less pant ($79.95) Rediscover your (disco) diva with these ‘go with anything’ luxe black long pants. The fabric is soft, has a glossy luxe look and ‘liquid-like’ feel – just amazing. Comfort and style, for any occasion.
*Fiore spliced top in navy ($69.95) If you love navy blue, then the Fiore top is sure to lure you in. The spliced colours have a retro vibe and the gorgeous neutral colours means it will go with anything which is just what you need when making do with less on holiday. I own this top and it’s a little more snug on me than on the model but I adore it, especially with morone or plum colours.
*Yasmine long duster poncho ($89.95). When I first tried this poncho on I was sold, it is a stylish and easy way to dress up a simple outfit when the weather turns cool. This poncho is light to mid weight knit that’s oh so soft on and falls beautifully, short sleeve, sides partially buttoned to just above the waist (depending on your height) – one button on each side, loose roll neck, 3/4 length.
*Rococo long sleeve top ($69.95) The perfect long sleeve to take you from day to night. This luxe look long sleeve top has great drawstring details, slinky cowl-like fall and cut-out back for a slightly sexy, sassy feel. Wear teamed with the matching pants or with your favourite bottoms.

Yay! These look amazing Jenni, thanks for hosting this 😀
Ubercircle: I’d get mine inscribed with a “;” – It’s something I’ve seen often as a tattoo and is meant to represent the idea that your story isn’t over (in the same way a semicolon indicates the sentence isn’t yet over). Having dealt with depression for years I really like having these small reminders around me often.
Sonni Lou: hiking/bush walking is definitely my favourite mental health tip. I’m unfit and overweight, so I find it incredibly challenging, but consequently I feel accomplished when I finish which makes me feel better. Plus it usually means I have to get outside and potentially get out of town, and both of those things can be beneficial when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Endorphins, exercise, a challenge, outdoors and a reminder of your place in the world and nature. Check, check and check.
Davroe: Two words: thinning shears. I have fine hair, so it’s usually limp and lacks volume. One hair dresser’s genius solution was to use thinning shears and make choppy layers to add volume. Well my hair was still flat, except then it also had a scraggly bottom layer and frizzed out like nobody’s business. I was scared of hair dressers for years after haha
I love your responses Steph, great tip with the bushwalking 🙂
I would love to win the mini uber circle for my amazing mummy. I would engrave it with STRONG to remind her to be strong and brave. She has had one health kick after another lately and it would be flippin amazing to give her such a special gift!!!!!
Omg Jen where do I start. First of all what an amazing list, I can nudge my ‘little shits’ towards any of these prizes & be totally satisfied. I’d definitely have EOH engraved on the uberkate necklace because that’s my kidlets first name initials, the n I’d try to find a quiet 10 mins me time when the washing machine buzzer goes off because that’s when my kidlets seem to disappear leaving me plenty of time to attack those granny hairs while I’m drinking my ‘mental’ moscato & nibbling that ever healthy chocolate, reminiscing my amazingly horrendous spiral perm from the 90’s but gazing lovingly at my s/m parvati pants with coordinating charmer belt & gold cross tshirt. All of this would undoubtedly be in one of my kidlets wardrobes because I don’t think they ever open them anyway.
Parvati pants please ? I’ve been inspired to try this style after seeing how nice you look in them. I would wear them when I take my Mum for high tea for Mothers Day at The Lenzerheide.
size?
I would love the Davroe Hair kit. Years ago, I though a perm would be a “great idea” (it wasn’t)! I subsequently had it straightened. There is NO photographic evidence (if there is i will burn it) and my girlfriends have been threatened to NEVER mention the “perm” again.
Ahhh the peril of the perm 🙂
For my mum, I would inscribe on the UBERKATE ubercircle, MUMMA, for her nickname Mumma Bear. Or I’d get INSPIRE because that’s what she does – inspires me, our colleagues and the students and parents we work with everyday.
beautiful x
Hi Jen, I’d love to win the mini Ubercircle, I’d engrave it with 9=mine. My boys always say I love you before bed, to which I’d reply I love you too poo. We’d continue with I love you 3, and any made up word that rhymed with 3, right up to 9, which was always because you’re mine! Even now they say I love you 9 because you’re mine! Hence 9=mine, our little family saying!
Hi Jen
You have certainly created a list with plenty of fantastic ideas, I will be pointing my husband in the direction of a few of these, for ideas.
I would love to have engraved Kyra with a ? as she is the centre of my world and makes my day as a mum.
Sonia’s prints are amazing and her and I have shared a few mental health tips, I have learnt so many of the last year or so, probably one that stands out and is often hard to do is put yourself first. The other is an important saying “You have Survived 100% of your worst days. You are doing great.
Enjoy both your Birthday and Mother’s Day and thankyou for sharing the love around.
Helen
Hi Jen, thank you for the opportunity, I would love to win the mini Uber circle and would have it engraved LUCKY as I feel that every day when I see my 3 gorgeous boys and wonderful hubby. Just lucky and grateful for what I have. Love your blog.
Hi Jen,
I would inscribe it with three little letters that are my world. C.A.N. They represent my husband and babes. It also represent a never give up attitude, that we CAN do whatever we set our minds to.
Thanks for the entry
I may not be a Mumma yet, unless Dog Mum counts – but can I enter anyway? I really want to say the Uber Kate necklace, id get CD (my initials) because it is giving me tingles just thinking about it….. however……… It was casually mentioned in passing that perhaps I should attend to my lady moustache at some stage so maybe I should switch to the Homedics Duo Pro lol. Id find time alone by locking myself in a dark room rocking back and forth whilst tending to my apparently obvious/ glistening beard. Hehe
Hi Jenni. What an fab post. I would love the Parvati pants please (SM). It is a style I have been meaning to try…and the print is amazing!! I would wear them (hopefully) on a date night with the huz. They are few and far between with 2 little ones ?
The Mini uber circle is just lovely. I would inscribe “family” , it encompasses everyone I love with no beginning or end just like a circle.
The übercircle engraved with ‘hero’ for my mum who is definitely my hero. She takes me to all my treatments, took me to hospital for surgery and stayed at home with me for the first few days. She rings me everyday to check on me and my two children no matter what else is going on. She is also caring for my dad who has several health issues, looks after my sisters youngest child, has volunteered at the hospital kiosk for 10yrs and still works at the age 71 and this is only a small part of her story. Sounds like an imaginary super hero but she’s real ?
Parvati pants pleaeJen! I haven’t been gas enough to try these yet but seeing you wear these type of pants has inspired me ? S/M please.
I’d wear then everywhere! Dress them up fir Mothers Day lunch or a bit more cas to meet a friend for coffee. Love them! Thanks for the chance. Enjoy your birthday and Mothers Day ?
Oh gosh, my comment has so many spelling mistakes. Sigh! Sorry ☺️
OMG What amazing give aways! For me it would have to be the Pavarti pants in M-L, because I have only recently become brave enough to to wear animal print and ALL THANKS TO YOU! I would wear these babies EVERYWHERE…to lunch with my mum, to the movies with my daughter, to the park with my grand babies (with my newly discovered joggers), to dinner with my hubby, to catch up with my girlfriends. Absolutely everywhere and anywhere. How amazing and generous are these businesses you work with x
Hi Jen,
I would live to win the Ubercircle, I have admired them for years but can never justify buying it for myself, I would have AJKP the initials of our little family.
The pants in large would be fabulous I have a work fundraising dinner to go to in August, with a black top and some heels maybe I would feel like a million dollars!
On another note after your post on the weekend I popped into Peter Alexander today and have treated myself to the lovely nightie with the black lace. I wouldn’t have even stepped in there before but will feel lovely when I put it on. My husband will like it too! Thank you. Katie
I would love the mini uber circle for my Mum and would have it engraved with ‘Peter and a love heart if they could do that. My Dad passed away last week and it would be a wonderful momento for Mum.
My mini über circle would be stamped “Darren” this would complete my über circles & my little family. My other two have my children’s names on them & my partners would complete it perfectly. XXX
Urbercircle
“mother” a modern take on the antique Edwardian brooc
Alsoa word with so many meanings
Nurturing
Expletive
Exasperation
Etc
Happy mother’s day xxx
Oh Jenni I would love a über circle. I would have B,J,D inscribed on there as it’s the three boys in my family who are my world. Mothers Day is a busy time in my family. My mums birthday is on the 8th May and Daniel and my grandmother share a bond with there birthdays on the same day. My Gran is turning 94 and DAniel will be a teenager… We will have a joint celebration this year. xx
Daniel and my Grandmothers birthday are on the 9th May x
Hi Jen, I would love the Uber circle for my mum, she has seen me through divorce, 2 kids with Autism, another baby and recently my husbands 2 1/2 year long dialysis treatment and finally kidney transplant a few months ago. She does all of this plus looks after the other grandkids, donates time at an op shop, supports her friends through illness and still has time for netball and my dad. I would get ‘love’ engraved on hers as it’s simple and everything we feel for her.
For the Sonni Lou; the best thing I have done for my mental health is taken up walking 1 hour a day at night with my bestie. It’s like a therapy session and we are reaping the benefits, fitter, stronger, clearer minds and happier mums xx
Parvati Pants……lunch with the “girls”………all us 70+ still know how to party !!
Uber circle…….J M L H……..grandkids.I waited long enough for them and adore them.
Sonni prints…..am a big fan; go on a holiday because it’s the best “pick me up” ever.
What an awesome prize pool you have come up with and the comments are uplifting and entertaining. I’m not as creative as some, just say it from the heart. Ubercircle I would have all41 inscribed to represent our family and how we will forever be united(no beginning and no end) and for the sonny Lou prints my mental health tip would be encompassed in one word “faith” faith in yourself , faith in your loved ones, faith in a higher being and faith in the health practitioners many rely on throughout our life for various reasons. This one word is why I will be celebrating 10 years in remission come November and what has kept me mentally healthy. Goodluck to all and a very happy mothers day to all the mums, grandmas and mother figures.
This necklace is so beautiful I would have my Dad’s name on it as he passed away 3 years ago 19/4/2013 this is also my wedding Anniversary and I miss my Dad so much this way he would be close to my heart.
I would love a pair of the Parvarti pants in large! I am a teacher and am always looking for stylish, comfortable and easy to wear pants. These are perfect, and would be great to layer this autumn.
Being that this will be my first Mother’s Day in 25 years without my son I am going to make the best of it and buy myself a gift? But I would really love a pair of Peter Alexander pj’s so at least I looked glamorous if I am caught in my pj’s . Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and practicing mothers out there ?
I’d love the Parvati pants in a S/M. I think I’d love to wear them with a basic black tshirt to our Mother’s Day celebration- the first time 4 generations will have been together celebrating the day! Ages range from 10 weeks to 82 years.
I would also love the ubetkate mini circle- I’d engrave it patience and preserverence or P&P. My dear old Dad taught us that saying (he died of non Hodgkin’s lymphoma 2 years ago) and it’s the moto I live by- especially with my children!!!
Thanks Jen, you have been more than generous!
I would love the SONNI LOU FRAMED PRINT GIFT PACK. When I need to take a time out I go into my backyard amongst our trees and wildlife and I breathe. I just breathe and meditate. I just need the time to be one with what I love Nature.
I’d love to win the Pavarti pants in a M/L to pop in my hospital bag for when my first (long awaited) Bub arrives in the middle of the year. They would be comfy yet stylish for those first few days being cooped up in a hospital bed 🙂
We’re heading to Broome on a cruise in June and the m/l Parvati pant looks perfect for evening dinner on board. We don’t usually celebrate Mother’s Day but the last 10 weeks I’ve been kicking butt doing a metafit class twice a week so I brought myself some PA nightwear as a little treat to myself that my daughters have hidden away for me for mums day ?
Jen, you have done it again! you are a little ripper! I would love the Ubercircle to be engraved with the name Kaye, my daughter died when she was 35 years, it would be a wonderful way to have her close. xo
The Fiore spliced top is my 2nd choice, I LOVE it, looks extra special, I would be so proud to wear this beautiful garment. Many thanks for this wonderful competition & to all the companies taking part. xo
Oh wow my eyes lit up when I saw the Homedics Duo Pro I am sprouting bloody chin hairs & facial hair like you wouldnt believe! Maybe this comes with getting older but I am sick of trimming & plucking them. I have been getting IPL treatment in a salon but it is costing a fortune & a very drawn out process. Would like to try it on bikini line too & maybe hubbys back! I will lock the kids outside they will be right with a snack & a drink just to have 10min to myself (with a cuppa) just to use the duo pro!
I an already worried about Mother’s Day this year. My mum passed away only 7 weeks ago. She was only 69. I used to make a high tea for her, or take her to lunch at Chinese (her favorite).
So this year I am torn between doing something with my little boy that I would normally have done with her or hibernating in the house and pretending it’s not Mother’s Day and mine is missing ?
Hi Jenni, I would love to win the mini Ubercircle as a little gift to myself and would have it engraved with P (for the love of my life) A (for our son), T (for our daughter) T (for our grand daughter) and K (for our other grand daughter). I would also be very to win the Davroe hair products as I am very keen to try them and the travel size is perfect for the next trip to Sydney to see our beautiful grand daughters.
As for Mother’s day …. it is a very quiet day in our house, as we have no family here in SA. So I will get a call from our children and I will ring my mum, but that will be it ….. just another day ?
Mmmmm………..
Option 1: extra small Ubercircle with “C & A” – these are our children’s initials ?
Option 2: Homedics duo pro – for the wondrous hair growth where I don’t want it, that post breast cancer drug treatment will kindly be providing me with…….to add to the already generous serving my ethnic heritage has provided me with…..oh yay, just call me Bruce ? ?
So many great prizes Jenni, such a fabulous giveaway.
For the Ubercircle pendant it would be L.L.F. – standing for LOVE LAUGHTER FAMILY – for me these are the most important things in life the rest is just window dressing. Wearing it close to my heart a constant reminder of what really matters.
Making a 3rd choice if I may? Jenn, I don’t have to look for 10 mins time, as an older member of your clan my family have all grown up & moved away, so I live alone. There is no one to tell me when I need to look at my “whiskers”! The Homedics Duo Pro would be the perfect answer for a perfect skin to present to the world. Used regularly as part of one’s normal routine this would be just fantastic, so I don’t go out looking scruffy!
Happy Mother’s day & wishing you the best ever *birth* day! I too am a May girl, turning 80 years young this year
& still so interested in all the things you are. <3
What a fabulous lot of prizes!
Mothers Day will be spent receiving hinted gifts (new bed socks and flannel PJs please!) and hosting my Mum and MIL for a nice relaxed dinner at home.
Okay, here are my answers:
1. Ubercircle: I’d have my daughter’s name engraved; I know, bit textbook but the blog name is too long.
2. Sonni Lou: I maintain mental health by asking for help if I need it; be it family, friends or a GP.
3. Harlow: Diamond Dogs for the Bowie reference. I’d wear it to belt up my swing dresses and tunics for a sharper Autum vibe
4. Sequins and Sand: I’m a S/M and I’d wear them around the house until I built up the courage to do a drop crotch in public
The Homedics Duo Pro would really be my thing. As the only ‘super parent’, I just don’t have the time for that superfluous facial hair removal. My ‘me’ time is in the car driving to and from work listening to the radio. But sometimes I leave earlier than I need to for the ballet pick up just so I can sit in the parked car and read. If I’m not at home I don’t need to feel guilty about not doing housework!
Happy upcoming Mum’s Day darling Jenni!!
I’d engrave “Mama” on the necklace for my beautiful Mum. Somehow that became her name over the years, lol, even though us kids are in our twenties.
I won’t see Mum on Mother’s Day as she lives in country WA and I’m in Perth but I know we’ll probably have an hour long phone convo like we do most days. Xx
Thanks for the opportunity to win.
Uberkate Ubercircle: I would get my daughters name engraved on the circle “Sophie” because she is my everything and it will start my collection. My aim is to get a circle for every family member as our family grows 🙂
Sequins and Sand: I’m a size M/L and these clothes will get me out of wearing my gym pants everyday. Being a mum means sacrificing new clothes for things for the baby/family.
Thanks again. Xx
Those Parvatti pants are divine, would so go with my animal fetish…
I would need a large,
Happy Mother days, Happy Holiday & Happy Birthday
xXx
Always a pleasure to see how your travelling. Love your pics for everydaystyle. The chiko ute photobomb one gives me giggles. So many gorgeous mothers day ideas here. Kate’s Uberkate’s sentiment necklace will be mums gift that hugs her with a warm embrace when I’m not near. I’d have mums name Jenny inscribed on this fine piece.
I would love the Uber Kate mini. On the front I’d have Xavier engraved, our little IVF miracle. On the back, somewhere close to the bottom closest to my heart, I would have n engraved to remember the little embryo that we lost that we nicknamed Nemo. He tried everything to live but didn’t make it. After a round where everything that could go wrong, did, that little bundle of cells gave us hope that we would become a family. Luckily, the next cycle worked and we have our boy.
Hi Jen. What an amazing array of prizes!
How pretty is the UBERKATE extra small UBERCIRCLE! If I won I would love TEN inscribed on mine. This comes from some inspirational words from Nadine Champion who says you only need 10 seconds of courage to get you through and it has helped me immensely.
I also love the OBI diamond dogs belt. I would team it with my growing collection (like you) of denim shirts.
Thanks for the opportunity to win such amazing stuff!!
Hi Jen
DAVRO hair products, my disaster story 20th October 1979 I was talked into having a perm the morning of my twin sisters wedding, oh my gosh ! I went from dead straight hair to tight curls I was matron of honour and the disaster love vets on in wedding photo’s! Go figure was talked into a body wave today it’s a very nice soft curl. So these products will help me to maintain.
What a wonderful competition! I would love to win the Uberkate necklace. I would inscribe my grandies first initials A T H L I’m sure I will end up with two more eventually! I can’t believe Mothers Day is almost here, the year is just flying past. Happy Birthday and Happy Mothers Day x
On the rare mornings I’m able to laze around I’d love to be wearing the PA Sleepware. He epitomises luxury. And who doesn’t love the scent of a glorious Glasdhouse candle; pure bliss!
Thanks for the opportunity Jen ?
Would love to win the Homedics gift ! To score me some downtime I would bake the fam bam something delicious to distract them from me escaping to my bedroom pop in thr earbuds and make it all about moi ♡
The girgeous sequins and sand pants are to die Love em I woul be m/l and I wouls wear tgem on the rooftop at Double six Bali for cocktails and canapés ? ? ?
Thanks Jen for sharing all these beautiful products xxx
Such a fabulous selection Jen!
Homedics- how would I find 10 minutes to myself? I’d find it bloody fabulous! Each day after work and school is chaos. I get the kids started on homework then I slip upstairs to “go to the toilet” what I usually do is take my shoes off and lay on my bed, put some hand cream on and just chill for 10 minutes. On a good day I get 10 minutes before someone needs homework help on a bad day I hide in the toilet for two minutes just for the peace!
Harlow belt – love the quilted one! As a shorty t shirt dresses and long tops often look like sacks on me. I’m forever searching for the right belt to complete the look. I reckon Harlow could be on a winner!
Davroe: as a blonde I’ve had a few dodgy hair experiences. The worst was the hairdresser who left the bleach in too long. She didn’t say a word about it. I got home from my appt and went to comb my hair and discovered a massive chunk of my long hair was missing from underneath at the back. My hair had broken off and she hadn’t said a word. It’s taken me a good year of cuts and treatments to grow it back and repair the damage. Worst thing is that the hairdresser is my neighbour so instead of complaining I just stopped going to her and now it’s awkward every time I see her.
Uberkate: how gorgeous is uberkate? I’d choose to have “Five” engraved on it. We’re a family of five after all ?
Homedics duo pro
To remove my manly mo!
Coz; those lil mofos
Surely need to go!!!!!
duo pro and my morning cuppa
Would be a likely combo.
Or
I’d take ten in the tub
With duo, wine and a scrub.
Or
my final 10 with zapping hairs
Is sitting in my comfy chair
Watching housewives on the box
Getting rid o those hairs to look like a red hot fox!
🙂
I would totally love the HoMedics Duo Pro. To get some time out from my 4 charming little ferals I would simply fill the trampoline with food and then when the kids are happily eating I would lock myself in the house for my ‘me’ time. Enough food would allow the time for me to tend to my embarrassing ‘stray’ hairs.
Being on the wrong side of 50 I think I’d love to try the Homedics skin rejuvenation kit and it would also deal with those pesky hairs that crop up on my face!
I find it very easy to carve out 10 minutes of my day for myself I just do it,I read or have a coffee in the sun or just do a little meditation session with a beautiful candle,it’s important for me to have “me” time it makes me a happier Mum and human being.
Thank you Jenni for this gorgeous giveaway I’m not fond of Mother’s Day since I lost my Mum 22 months ago,I find it an emotional sad day even though I’m a mother.
Hi Jen. The homedics duo pro would be my gift of choice, and would be great for all 3 generations of women in our family. My daughter as she’s inherited the dark hair genes, and my mum and I who are fighting hormones, age and hair. I wouldn’t seek 10 minutes quiet time to use it, as some of my most favourite moments are the times I spend with my mum. I think a bottle of wine and this handy gadget would make a very entertaining and well spent afternoon for mum and me.
This mother’s day is also my birthday and as it always falls around that date I have always shared the day but now as my 3rd as a mother (a role I thought I may never get to be and one I am so thrilled I got to) I will happily share it and spend the day playing with my boy, the light of my life 🙂 and will also have a lunch with my mother and siblings as we do every year. Family is my foundation.
HARLOW: The diamond dog quilted belt I would team with the Kyoto skirt, white tee and all night wrap – warm and stylish 🙂 It would also add quick stylish shape to any of my sack style dresses and tops which have somehow become my “uniform”.
Thanks Jenni 🙂
I’d love the Harlow Charmer belt. It would be the perfect finishing touch to so many of my outfits! I’d especially love to style it with my black boots, black stockings, black long sleeved tee and tutu skirt for a tough pretty look!
What a beautiful present this would make. I hope to own a UberKate piece one day. If I owned Tis I would definitely have the word family a heart and an infinity symbol engraved on it.
So special
