It’s still winter but today I see sunshine and it’s got me thinking about pastels. I’ve been a fan of pastels since I was seven, it helps that I’m blonde and blue eyed but don’t be fooled…pastels can be worn by anybody.
Curvy women often get nervous around lighter colours preferring to stick with black in the hope it will make them look slimmer. As any of my clients will tell you, once I throw colour on them they never look back. Pastels are no exception, they will bring your eyes and hair to life and pastels are perfect for some lighthearted weekend wear.
I just discovered ‘Polyvore’, I know I’m a style blogger whose been living under a rock! This technology thing bends my mind and I’ve had a lot to learn since I started blogging nine months ago so it’s taken me a while to get onto this collage app. I had a little play this morning, ummm…love it!
So here’s a little ‘mood board’ of inspiration for ‘plus size pastel’ weekend wear, Think light denim, soft muted pinks, chambray and gold or rose gold accents.
If you have a pair of light denim skinny leg jeans team them with a stripe tee, add a blazer and some pastel canvas shoes and you have the perfect outfit for brunch. Alternatively team the jeans with a great print tee and layer a chambray shirt over the top left unbuttoned, a little pop of leopard print never hurts either.
Either of these outfits will take you through to evening, just add heels and some serious bling…easy.
I’ve also popped in a chambray shirt dress (I know you love them) and cute swing dress in a soft khaki that you can team with the canvas shoes, because sometimes we need to get out of our jeans and into a dress, right?
Don’t forget the little add touches like some aviators, a scarf or a necklace.
Cute weekend looks created from a few staple items that will take you from day to night…brunch to bar.
Have I inspired you to try some pastel tones?
Til next time,
Jen x

I do love a pop of colour, although I prefer bright to pastel. That said, your picks look very tempting and hooray for Polyvore!
I love pastels… and seeing a lot of chambray lately. A great combo! Xx
Love me some light denim, white and pastel pinks x
Can’t go wrong x
Yes, you have inspired me. I stick to navy, black and grey – I feel adventurous when I throw in some white!!! LOL. But I have been thinking there is room for soft pink in my wardrobe…lovely meeting you (albeit briefly) at ProBlogger. xx
A little colour gives a nice lift. Lovely meeting you too 🙂
This has reignited my old burning love with pastels! Pastel glasses would be the cherry on top for a pastel ensemble! Very cute!
Pastel glasses…swoon 🙂
