Before I was diagnosed with breast cancer I worked in retail and NEVER shopped online, because I was too chicken to use my credit card on the internet and I believed it hurt the retail sector. Ha, how times change, these days I collaborate with online labels every single day and not only do I shop on the internet – I work on the internet!
I sure wish I had a plus size shopping guide when I first started shopping online.
Truth is it’s modern day, we are ALL online, our shopping habits have changed and one or two of us might like shopping in our pyjamas just a little too much. Hands up if that’s you 🙂
I’ve written about online shopping tips before, now here’s a plus size shopping guide, little list of some stores where you definitely can get sizes that love curves. It’s not every brand available but it’s a solid guide, add your own favourites to the comments to help a sista out.
Some are Aussie, some offshore, some online and some storefront. Remember when I said our shopping habits have changed? Yeah, that.
A few tips before you start
If shopping on overseas sites be aware of size guides and shipping costs…always check the fine print. Remember too that some won’t ship to Australia but if you ‘just gotta have it’, then there’s a site to help a curvy girl out. HopShopGo is a site where you can have your parcels delivered to and they then send them on to you, like a middle man. You do need to register and you will need to pay a little extra but it’s worth it for that extra special piece.
Ok let’s do this, let’s shop the plus size Shopping Guide. Oh and when you see a word highlighted in the pink colour that means the links are embedded, just click on it and you go straight to the site. It’s the magic of the internet 🙂
Aussie
International
Lingerie/sportswear/swimwear
Phew, that’s some list right? Time for me to chillax with a cuppa and do some browsing!
I hope you enjoyed the Curvy Girls Shopping Guide. What’s your favourite online curvy stores? Hands up if you’ve had service that exceeded your expectations.
Til next time,
Jen x

LOVE this post but you are missing my all time fav brand – 17 Sundays!!!! and Brava is also a good shop for the well endowed lady for lingerie and swimwear as well as swimgalour..

OMGI had17 Sundays in there but it must have got lost somehow when I dropped my draft into wordpress (fixed now)…how could I have missed that?!Thanks for being on the ball Flick and for the other tips, I’ll go check them out x
Thanks for the list. There is a few I haven’t heard of so will need to check out ?
A great Aussie online store is http://www.tekiero.com.au – fabulous service
Ohhhh goodie another one for me to check out thanks Trish x
Hey Jen
There is always us, although our target market may be a little older than most of your followers, we do try to stock mainly Australian owned brands though and the new season Clarity by Threadz is selling really well. We may be able to help someone especially those looking for colour and print – the Kita Ku range certainly takes care of that! https://theuniqueyou.com.au/
Thanks heaps!
On Kim I’m so sorry, I’ll pop you in when I’m on my laptop later today. X
?
Hey Jen, great list, Its great for women to know how many options they actually have. If any other ladies are wary of using their credit card online, it’s worth contacting the store direct, as most will take telephone orders or make arrangements for you to be able to make a payment via bank transfer, K
Great tip Kerry! For myself I have a card with a smaller limit that way I’m not stressed if someone hacked it
I don’t know if they deliver to Australia or not, but my favorite curvy store is CATO. I buy at least half of my clothes there for work and casual wear. Check them out.
Thanks lovely, I’ll check them out.
Wow Jenni. That’s one epic list! Great stuff. Xx
Thanks Shannon x
I have recently fallen in love with Harlow. I am a frequent flyer at Autograph and My Size and other more mainstream stores like TS14+ and Rockmans, but I am going to pocket this post and spend some serious time looking through the list for places who have something a little different. Thanks for the great post. Mel xx http://www.melaniegreenhalgh.com
I have a soft spot for Harlow too. A few people have mentioned Rockmans so I need to revisit them?
I am a huge fan of Dorothy Perkins and Debehams in the UK and buy almost all my clothes exclusively from them. If you buy at the right time, the clothes are so cheap that the postage is totally worth it and if all the planets and sales gods align at the same time, you can even get free delivery!
Wow, that is some seriously good planet alignment! I need to check out more overseas sites ?
Great list Jen. I love that jumpsuit!! Jx
Thanks Jess, I love a jumpsuit ?
Have you tried Atomic Cherry or Hell Bunny? I’m yet to give them a go and wondering how they are. Do you use City Chic at all?
Sometimes I pop into City Chic, more so in winter
Hi Jenni
I have been compiling my own list for a while…should have known you’d have it covered! I’ll check through your list and, on the off chance I have something that you don’t, I’ll drop you another line. In the meantime, thanks for enabling (I mean empowering) us curvy goddesses!
Barbara
I live in the USA. I am not familiar with any of those places. Are any of them in the US where I can go IN a store?
OK…sorry ..not true…have heard of Cato and Forever 21. I love Cato but shopping is not a fun activity for me.
Heather these are mostly online stores
I’ve managed to buy quite a few great styles from Seraphina Boutique & she now stocks XL .. I believe it’s Adelaide based as well …
That is fantastic Jen and couldn’t have come at a better time. I have a trivia night / fundraiser to attend in a few weeks for a local lady fighting breast cancer. The dress code is “a sea of colour” and I’ve been struggling to find something bright given its winter. I didn’t know about half of the stores you have listed above so I can go hunting again now.
I never shop online because I can’t be trusted with a credit card and I’m on a pension, so a very limited budget. I also like to try things on because I vary in size a lot. I may be old fashioned but I still don’t trust a credit card and my family won’t let me use one in case I go on a manic buying spree (which I’m likely to do)
But Jen, that list is wonderful and I’m certainly going on a ‘walking spree’. So thanks
Great list Jen ….. My all time favourite is MOTTO – Australian made and designed. Clothes are very well styled and last for ages as they use really good quality fabrics. Worth checking out too x
Thanks Jen, Just what I need more shopping, girl after my own heart. Lots of info in this one thanks for taking the time.
Johnny Was is one of my favs its an American label however is stocked in stores here if not confident in purchasing online.
Marks and Spencer have a fantastic range too. Lovely quality and of course great underwear!
Hi Jen,
You’re missing Love Your Wardrobe.
Cheers,
Carolyn
Also Lulumanna is gorgeous for curves! Love this list Jen!
Hi Jen. Love this list. Do you have suggestions for raincoats & warm coats for outdoors ? I’m travelling in winter overseas & need some advice.
HI Lovely try Plus Size snow, Gorman and Rainbird clothing. x
