One of my favourite parts of blogging is discovering new brands and labels to share with the Styling Curvy community. Think of it as me doing the groundwork for you (you’re welcome).
I’m fortunate to have partnered with many labels and road tested loads of product, not all of it makes the grade but when it does, well that’s when you will see me wearing it and sharing with all of you. ?
Like Empress Eleven, a fairly new player on the fashion scene. I was first introduced to the label late in 2015 when the team sent me several pieces. It was love at first sight and ‘every’ single piece sent to me made the cut.
Glamorous and essential pieces in sizes 14-24 designed with that style ‘edge’ that transcends age. Whether you are wearing their leopard print ‘Roxy Tunic’, ‘Hells Kitchen’ Jersey and pleather top or ‘Winter Rose’ maxi it‘s all about attitude and Empress Eleven gives it to us in spades.
I know lots of you fell in love with the ‘oh so soft n comfy’ leopard print droppies. I sure did, and now I’m enjoying many more pieces from the range. *The Charli Rose cardi, *Tropix Tank, *Fonda Duster and *Ivy Street tank are firm favourites. Oh, and I’m getting great mileage from most pieces creating several different looks. Try adding a belt to the ‘Charli Rose’ cardi (below) and hey presto, you have a wrap dress 🙂
As you can see I’ve created several outfits with just a few Empress Eleven pieces, the layering pieces will be working hard for me over Autumn and Winter.
The Huz snapped some looks over the weekend, it was bloody hot and I may have stomped my feet (tantrum) as I stripped in car parks and mid street…did I mention it was ridiculously hot?
Yeah?…well, I still managed to create plenty of casual and dressy looks by teaming the Empress Eleven pieces with some ‘good basics’ from my wardrobe. And you can too 🙂
The standout features of the Empress Eleven range for me is comfort and versatility.
Another is affordability! The range is priced in the ‘comfort zone’ of most women. Perfect for a midweek splurge that won’t hurt the budget.
I for one am happy to pay top dollar for quality investment pieces but nothing peeves me more than retailers slugging curvy girls big bucks for ‘fashion’ pieces.
You know the kind, those pieces that you will flog for a season or two, the on trend pieces you love or the styles you want to ‘dip your toe into’.
With most items priced around fifty ‘ish’ dollars Empress Eleven has got your back ladies. Thanks team 🙂
Have fun with the styles and patterns (hello leopard print), team them back with your favourite pieces currently in your wardrobe and ladies and let’s not feel bad about adding a few new rock star pieces to our wardrobes.
I was recently chatting with the team at Empress Eleven and they engaged me to do a sponsored post, which means I write about ‘what I want in my own words’ and get paid for my time. Excellent! I sent them some questions so you could get to know them better…so let’s do that.
TELL ME THREE THINGS EMPRESS ELEVEN IS…
Glamorous, casual, modern.
AND THREE THINGS EMPRESS ELEVEN ISN’T…
Expensive, poor quality or a bad fit.
HOW DOES EMPRESS ELEVEN WANT TO MAKE WOMEN FEEL?…
Beautiful, confident and relaxed when it comes to their dressing.
HOW DID THE LABEL COME ABOUT?
A frustration at the lack of affordable and modern casual wear options for the plus market – coupled with an entrepreneurial itch and a love of fashion and design.
WHAT’S THE FAVOURITE PIECE IN THE COLLECTION AT EMPRESS ELEVEN HQ?
*Saskia Jeggings – they’re great quality fabric and fit and work all year round in place of jeans. A big thumbs up.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE AT EMPRESS ELEVEN HQ?
A lot of time on the smartphone – managing emails, social media, orders and logistics. All of this happens after dark largely too once little ones are in bed and the day jobs are finished. It’s a busy life.
HOW OFTEN CAN LOYAL CUSTOMERS EXPECT TO SEE NEW DROPS?…
It all depends on how much they’re buying! LOL Clothing manufacturing requires high volumes and to do it in a socially responsible way requires significant investment. The goal at this stage is to drop a collection twice a season – that’s manageable for us at this stage.
WHAT’S THE QUESTION YOU GET ASKED THE MOST WHEN LADIES ARE ORDERING?…
How can we say that a size can fit such a range? – for example, most of our sizing is blended, a S/M covers a 12-16. That’s easy, we only make designs that are easy to wear and use fabrics which are conducive to that vision. It’s a key part of our strategy as an online brand – you can shop with confidence without agonising over sizes.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE WINTER LOOK?
Now that’s a tough one, it might be a draw. The sequin chevron tuxedo arm detail on the *Starry Night top is amazing and so is the Black Betty top.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE ‘ON THE GO’ LOOK?…
It’s hard to beat our joggers – both of which we are restocking soon in fun new colours for winter!
WHAT’S NEXT FOR EMPRESS ELEVEN?
We’d love to turn over more volume, as that is the key in this business to making more designs and developing your own fabrics. It’s been a steady start – with some highs and lows – but it’s a great creative outlet and a passion. It would be great to have more manufacturing relationships directly offshore too – so get in touch if you can help us out here.
Have you checked out Empress Eleven yet?
Maybe you already own a piece or two?
Do you have your eye on a piece?

Thanks Marion ? With them being so affordable you can start collecting? Have fun.
You look fabulous! Thank you for bearing the heat for this post 🙂 I have the leo slouch joggers and loved them! I Think that Empress Eleven have some wonderful pieces, and good on them for supplying such great value and beautiful looking clothing for curvy girls. However their customer service can come across as abrupt. Unintentional or not, this has left me feeling undervalued and not really worth their time. I hope they can improve on this, and wish them every success. xx 🙂
Oh no, I’m so sorry to read that Helen. Without good customer service we have nothing. I hope it was a one off experience, meanwhile how amazing are the joggers. They feel like wearing pyjamas ?
Fingers crossed :)…… I looovvveee the joggers! they are super comfortable! I think I need a pair for every day of the week 🙂
I meant want them all sorry x
Knowing how utterly unbearable the weather was here yesterday makes me salute you even more for getting out and about in these layers for the benefit of your readers! Not only that, looking all sorts of fierce. I’m liking the tank and tunic combos a lot!
Wow!! All these looks are amazing! Popping over to have a look as we speak!
You are so right about the price point Jen, I can’t justify spending huge dollars on fashion pieces, as much as I would love to.
