As a teenager I wore Jag chambray shirts and was lovin myself! Yeah all the cool kids were wearing them but I saved for months for mine…and I’ve been wearing chambray ever since. When I spied the chambray jumpsuit trend my heart was all a flutter but the stores said settle down fat chick.
All the cool stores are doing them, women all over Instagram are rockin the chambray jumpsuit…well not curvy women because there wasn’t anything out there for us…until now.
I picked up this chambray jumpsuit at Target recently because quite frankly the price was right, the size was right and I just wanted to roadtest it. Geez, it’s gorgeous, I freakin love the soft feel of a good chambray and this jumpsuit has a few fab features too.
Like ankle zips and a flat ankle band to taper the leg without the shirred look. Deep pockets for all your essentials (like hands), adjustable straps so there’s no excuse for camel toe or a wedgie and a tie waist to enhance your shape.
I have a tum that looks like 2 donuts slapped together, you know the belly that folds in two so the adjustable straps allow me to add some flounce to cover that up a little which gives me the confidence to wear this jumpsuit.
I added this hot to trot bomber from Harlow to break up the expanse of blue and give me some shape and it also top n tails perfectly with the black in my print shoes. Leopard print slip ons, a statement necklace and a sports watch complete the sports luxe look I was going for.
At 43 I had a moment where I wondered if a chambray jumpsuit was the piece for me…ahhh, stuff that! It was a fleeting moment. I’m wearing this baby again for sure as its a reflection of my personality and after all that’s what style is all about.
Til next time,
Jen x
I wasn’t too sure at first about all the blue, but it’s grown on me. You’re definitely rocking it 🙂
Thanks Kirily, the jacket and jewellery are enough to break it up or I could add a scarf and wedges…I just love blue xxx
you SO DO rock that Jen, pity I’m closer to 63 than 43, love it
THANKYOU Mary-Anne age is just a number Hun, if you want to try it you should xxx
Wonderful!
Thanks June x
I, too, was super-styling in chambray as a high-schooler & was devastated when it “went out of fashion.” Now that I’m 30 & have a blog of my own, I have to say that it has really liberated me & I’m willing to try all those things that I once loved all over again. Age be damned – you ROCK that jumpsuit! Love your blog by the way; so inspirational with regards to both fashion & life…
Thanks Frances size and age are irrelevant xx
