I know it’s been a while since I did a ‘style post’…totally crap form from a ‘style blogger right? I apologise and vow to do better, sometimes I just have other things I want to share and since I can’t clone myself the style posts go missing.
Of course you get my daily outfit pics on Facebook and Instagram and you all know you can ask me anything…especially on a Sunday when I have ‘Ask me ANYTHING Sunday’.
I loved this outfit so much that I wanted to share more than a daily pic soooo…Ta Da, a post! 😀 Then I thought why not take some pressure off (or maybe kick me up the arse) and do a regular Friday style post?! So welcome to the first ‘Style it up…what I wore’ post.
It’s no secret I love blue, especially chambray. Have you got a chambray shirt? I’ve been a fan since 1986 and I’ve had at least one in my wardrobe ever since. Presently I have two chambray shirts, one chambray vest and two chambray shirt dresses…I know, I told you I was a fan!
In the past my shirt dresses wouldn’t button up because I’d put on loads of weight but hey I wore them as an over shirt instead, over the last year I’ve been buttoning and loving the shirt dress. I’ve done it in the warmer months and now it’s getting a run in the cooler months. Just add tights and ankle boots!
I normally add a statement necklace when wearing this dress but this time…a tie, well kinda. How freakin fabulous is the repurposed tie?!
It’s a work of art from local designer ‘Days of August’, sustainable jewellery. I know, clever right? You can head to the website (click the link) and check out more but guess what?…I couldn’t find any of these ‘Windsor Ties’ over there. Maybe they have sold out or need to upload pics, I dunno but there’s lots of creative awesome stuff to check out…you might remember another favourite neckpiece I often wear.
Turns out both pieces are by the same creator. I fell in love with the blues in this ‘Windsor Tie’ neckpiece and knew straight away I would team it with chambray…I also knew it would make my eyes pop too. Of course you’ll see me wearing it with other outfits but I just love it with chambray.
This pin is moveable so you can keep creating your own look by lengthening or shortening the tie. You can even add your own brooch or wear the piece as a hair band aaaaand you can wear them over your collar or like I have inside my collar to create a whole new neckline…sweet 🙂
Even though my dress and neckpiece were in the same tones I added a little burst of colour with my boots because blue loves Bordeaux…burgundy…whatever you wanna call it. Either way, I love a boot with colour especially these ones. How many pairs of boots do you own that aren’t black or tan?
Oh and a red lip helps too! This one is ‘Ruby Woo’ by MAC.
Til next time,
Jen x
you find some amazing stuff thanks jen! … I like her work! … inventive and clever!
that colour is just the ticket for your gorgeous eyes!
boots are a super colour and fab with the blue!
I have 4 pairs of different coloured boots, other than my staples of black and dark brown!
I actually don’t have tan! … could be remedied though!
lol m:)X
Thanks Merilyn…might be time to hit the stores for some tan boots? 🙂
