Mothers Day is just around the corner and I can tell you what all Mums want more than anything is to spend time with loved ones…after a good old sleep in and breakfast in bed.
Who doesn’t love a breakfast you don’t have to rustle up yourself? I know right, I will take that any day over schmancy gifts. I am partial to a pretty breakfast tray though, I mean they do say we ‘eat with our eyes’ and it’s all in the presentation.
I’m past the stage in my life where I have little people who spill things and make a mess…oh who am I kidding, I have teenagers! Keep it simple with a hot drink, tasty eats, gift and maybe her IPAD. I’ve put together a few trays for you all to inspire…show them to whoever you want to make your breakfast tray. Here’s my first tray for you all…
Try to co-ordinate your tray’s contents to the bed linen…not exactly matchy-matchy but keep it in a similar colour palette or theme for a ‘total experience’. A bud vase with a stem or two of flowers will be sure to make Mum smile. How dreamy is a ‘lace tulip’? I love their pretty frills. Don’t forget a pretty tray liner and napkin too.
Mini chalkboard tags from the $2 shop are a cute way to add a personal touch and a little message.
Always add cream, because…YUM and of course Mum’s worth it.
Ummm…it’s never too early for some good quality chocolate. In case you were wondering THIS is my favourite…for future reference and all.
A pretty green tea is a gentle way to start off a morning. I’m partial to ‘Gorgeous Geisha’ from T2. Add Mum’s favourite tea cup or better still surprise her with a special new one!
There you have it, a feminine tray to inspire. Stay tuned because I have two more trays to come over the next few days…something for everyone. Take notes and start preparing….or pass them on to those who will be responsible for your breakfast in bed.
Tell me, what’s your favourite breakfast in bed treat?
Til next time
