Bali is a place I fell in love with the very first time I stepped on her shores. It’s a place where I instantly feel calm, relaxed in holiday mode. Recently I was privileged enough to host a tour for eleven Styling Curvy readers IN Bali! I know, add tour host to my resume?
Earlier n the year the huz and I were in Bali and some members from my closed group ‘This Is Healthier Me’ suggested I should do a styling curvy your, and then soooo many ladies chimed in asking me to do it. On my return home I had three travel agencies contact me wanting to help out with a tour, at first it scared the crappers outa me but after oh, let’s see, five minutes I jumped in and said let’s do this!
The team from Invigorate You travel helped me out with an itinerary and all the nitty gritty and before I knew it tickets went on sale and SOLD OUT in thirteen minutes…with sixteen on the wait list. No pressure!
Let me just say that I was a little nervous about travelling with eleven strangers, so I set up a private group so we could all get to know each other in the lead up to departure. This is a great way to ask ALL the questions and whet the appetite of what was to come.
The ladies were all lovely, all had their own unique life story and I couldn’t wait to meet them all. The question I’m asked the most about travelling with a large group of women is ‘did everybody get along’. The short answer is yes. Sure there were a couple of prickly moments as people adjusted to being with a group of strangers, to be expected.
Personally I came with an open heart and mind, you know just take each day as it comes and all.
The ladies were all amazing, some had joy and gratitude beaming from their beautiful faces while others just bathed in the serenity. It was a delight to watch everyone’s journey.
Speaking of journey the trip over was uneventful and smooth, I wanted to be there to greet everyone when they arrived, and didn’t want to run the risk of being held up by airlines so I traveled a day early and stayed in a hotel on my own.
Yes, this girl who only traveled overseas for the first time ever last year was now traveling and staying overseas on her own!
The hotel I chose wasn’t flash, a good reminder to remember not to trust the photographs online. That was cool, I chose to wander the streets of bali doing a little shopping and also catching up with some of the other ladies who had arrived early. Yes, some holidays before and after the tour, clever chicks.
So what did we do on the tour? Let’s take a little peek…
The short story is we had fun. We explored, we shopped, ate and just soaked up the magic of Bali. Apart from a few scheduled events the ladies were free as a bird to do whatever they wanted, but with nice digs and a rad bunch of women we all stayed together most of the time. Of course there were some hilarious moments, crazy wild moments (what happens on tour stays on tour), some humbling moments and big A-HA moments.
We really did jam in quite a lot in the time we had and it took me few weeks to reflect on ALL of that and digest it all. I had a wonderful time, and now it’s time to do it all again!

Hi Jen
I met you at the Brisbane Adrift workshop & was the country gal who saved you from slipping on salami when you were doing your presentation!
I’ll be having surgery on my Achillies tendon on Monday morning & wont be able to try to get tickets & wondered if you could give me an idea of the time of year & price so my beautiful friend could try to buy tickets if the price & date suit us both ?
I completely understand if that’s not possible out of fairness to all your other fans but thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask ?
Warmest regards
Sue xx
I will go over some details tonight on my live video. If you miss the video you can watch it later. Good luck with your surgery Sue.xx
