I’ve been making this recipe for nearly 30 years (yes I’m THAT old!), it never fails me and never lasts more than an afternoon in my home.
Not a single healthy thing about these brownies but they’re good for the soul. Sometimes we all need to indulge, enjoy!
Here’s what you need…
125g softened butter.
½ cup castor sugar.
2 eggs lightly beaten.
100g chopped milk chocolate.
150g chopped white chocolate.
200g chopped dark chocolate.
1+1/4 cups plain sifter flour.
Handful of halved macadamia nuts (leave them out if nuts are an issue).
Let’s make this…
Pre heat your oven to 180/200 degrees. Line your favourite slice tray (around 20cm).
Combine chopped butter, sugar, milk and dark chocolate in a saucepan and over a gentle heat stir until melted.
Stir constantly until you have a smooth glossy finish. Remove from heat and allow to cool a little.
In a mixing bowl add sifted flour, white and chocolate and eggs; fold them together then add cooled chocolate/butter/sugar.
Throw in the nuts and fold gently.
Pour into prepared tin. Spread evenly using a butter knife and pop into your oven. Bake for approximately 35 minutes or until you see the sides pull away from tin a little.
The centre will keep cooking once removed from oven but don’t take it out if it’s too gooey…give it a little longer. Let cool in pan and then cut into squares.
*Wanna boost your brownies?…add raspberries!
*TIP- dust with icing sugar before serving. Cut into small squares and layer with raspberry coulis, cream and ice cream in a martini glass, top with fresh raspberries or blueberries for a delightfully wicked little dessert. Try using the cut edges as they have a little extra chewy/crunch to them.
Me…I just add a dollop of cream!
Go on , you know you want to try these…they’re pretty awesome!
What’s your favourite thing to add to brownies?
