I love a market, any kind of market. It’s the buzz, the vibe, the hustle and the interesting people I meet along the way.
It all sucks me in…oh and the delicious food helps too! Local Adelaide market ‘Lollipop Markets’ tried something different recently and set up an eclectic grown up markets at Angus Neil Reserve at Seacliff, right opposite our local beaches. I was reminded of Sunset markets in Hervey Bay that I used to attend, waddling wandering around in the stifling humidity while pregnant with my first child.
Thankfully there was no waddling involved this time and the weather was superb!
My friend and I arrived early so I could grab some pics before the crowds descended and descend they did…it was just awesome to see so many people supporting the market. When we left the traffic was bumper to bumper so for the next one there I recommend sussing out good parking beforehand.
I finally got to meet and hug the delightful Sonia from ‘Sonni Lou Designs’, we follow each other on Facebook and it’s always great to meet in real life…oh and her prices are craaaazy good, check her out over HERE
When it was time for a break I headed for a cuppa and a biscuit, I know I wouldn’t normally have a biscuit for dinner but it called me. It did! $4.50 for a teabag in hot water was a bit steep but I was in ‘happy market mood’ so paid it anyway.
Elsa a Power Ranger and the Fairies all made appearances, which delighted the small fry. Organisers even had a roped off area set up with games and hula hoops to make sure those small fry were exhausted and flopped into bed as soon as they returned home…onya organisers 🙂
Well behaved and very cute dogs joined in too.
‘Vintage Earth’ had some bang on trend concrete planters and uber cool retro do it yourself macrame kits…hands up who did macrame in the 70’s? You can check out ‘Vintage Earth’ on Facebook and give them some love HERE
‘Stitcharooney’ also had a vintage vibe, these bow ties caught my eye and the cute book covers. You can find them on Facebook HERE.
My friend is known as ‘Aunty Ann’ to my dog Harvey, she picked up a bag of pizza biscuit treats for Harvey… Thanks Aunty woof! Find ‘Daisies Dog Treats’ on Facebook HERE.
‘Sweet Little Candle Co’ had the prettiest table of candles in cut glass vessels…swoon! Say howdy to them on Facebook HERE.
This little label ‘Frankie and Dandelion’ came all the way from Loxton and with heavy traffic it took them 5 hours to get here! I hope they had a sellout AND orders because that’s dedication to your passion. Pop over and say hi to them on Facebook HERE.
The fairies from ‘The Fairy Bay’ got busy doing face painting and sprinkling fairy dust. I love how grown women in colourful tulle and zany makeup can make me revert to a six year old girl enchanted and in awe. They do party packages for little girls and boys check out their site HERE
Looking for a wind chime with a difference? Take a look at these….
Need a gift for a little one that’s different, colourful and fun? I picked up a footy for the nephews…with a difference. Pop in a balloon and off you go! If a football isn’t for you then there’s punch balls too. You can see more from ‘Miss Amali’s Things’ on Facebook HERE.
‘Mewali furniture and homewares’ had an eclectic collection of pieces that I could see in my home. Find them on Unley Rd Parkside or check out their site HERE.
If you want to grab a cuppa and check out the next markets at Seacliff they are on Feb 27th 5:30-8:30
Angus Neil Reserve on the Esplanade at Seacliff.
See you there!
Til next time,
Jen x

I love markets too – even if you don’t buy anything they are usually great to just walk around, browse and soak up the atmosphere. I have a regular stall at the Stansbury Seaside Market and we always hope for a cool but not windy day – the wind can be our worst enemy. There is another market in Adelaide you might like to check out sometime, its called A Boutique Life Design and their next event is Sunday 15th March at St John’s Grammar School in Belair. I love being part of it, whenever I can and it would be great to see you there Jen.
