It’s Sunday which means it’s time for ‘the weekly wrap up’ where I share a bit about the week that was PLUS all the outfit pics and links. So grab a cuppa and a mince pie and take five to read. If you feel chatty then leave a comment, then I can take five with a cuppa later and read them.
TRYING…
to find forgiveness in my heart. This is a time of year when families get together but I gotta say not all families do. In fact I have distanced myself from my husbands family for the last three or so years because they hurt me deeply. But, it’s Christmas and my husbands mother is very ill and it’s Christmas and well, you know…I feel like I have to be the bigger one and suck it up and get over it. Christmas can be all carols and fa la la la la fun but not for everyone, so if this time of year is tough for you please take care.
EATING…
mini camembert and these crackers, and YES mini camembert is an ‘actual’ thing! I know I can’t believe it either but these baby cheeses are the best thing ever for portion control and the crackers are gluten free and filled with grains and seeds and goodness. i reckon my dietician Stelios would be happy with my choices.
ENJOYING…
the polo! I know, so freakin la-de-da but it really wasn’t. It was fun and relaxed and people watching lovers like me are in their element, so many pretty frocks and cute polo players 🙂
READING…
my calendar! Trying to stay on track and attend all the last minute meetings, events and catch-ups, it’s a marathon I tell you.
LISTENING TO…
no carols! WTF? Two weekends in a row I have been to a major Westfield to do my Christmas shopping and there are no bloody carols paying. In fact David Jones has had NO music at all playing. Come on retailers, this festive tone deaf middle aged lady (me) has been forced to sing as she shops and I aint so sure the other shoppers (or the Huz) are too happy about it 🙂
DREAMING OF…
Trifle! Our Christmas morning tradition is trifle for breakfast, I know guys how good is that! Seeing as the eldest son is coming home Tuesday for one night we are doing Christmas morning on Wednesday which means, yes you guessed it…trifle for brekky on Wednesday morning. Don’t tell Stelios.
EXCITED BY…
wrapping presents! I have already made a start but on Monday at midday I will be at Rundle Place wrapping presents for shoppers and I am so excited! There had better be carols!
THINKING ABOUT…
sleeping in and spending days in my togs…or undies 🙂 I will be taking a break from the 21st Dec until 1st Jan and I am looking forward to closing the office door and spending time at the beach. I will still be sharing on Facebook and Instagram but will be in holiday mode so If I don’t respond quickly you will know it’s because I am snoozing or at the beach.
FEELING…
grateful and proud. Grateful for you lot, the wonderful women who make up my community and proud that I just got through another year of business. Owning a small business is exciting, fun, rewarding and fits in with my health and lifestyle BUT it has also been challenging. I didn’t know the first thing about blogging or hashtags or proposals and reports before I fell into this blogging caper and I still feel like I am wingin’ it most days BUT, I am doing it and things are getting easier. in fact, I have even taken on a helper this year, someone (an office fairy) to help with my newsletters and behind the scenes a little, which gives me a little breathing space and allows me to work on planning fun things…so stay tuned for 2018 because I feel like it’s gonna be be bigger and brighter!

Our traditional Christmas Day begins with the opening of our presents, followed by Overnight Ftuit and Bran Muffins (sounds unappetizing but tastes fabulous) served with a giant platter of tropical fruit. More coffee and perhaps a Bellini (or two). Usually a large hot and cold buffet of all the Christmas things follows in the late afternoon and then we usually collapse…or have more Bellini’s. ❤️ Christmas traditions in whatever form they take!
Hi Jenni. Yes Christmas can be a difficult time with family. I try to remember the good times I had with now lost family members and be tolerant and civil to family I’m not that keen on. I focus on my husband and 14 year old son and love the time we have together. At 48 I still get my hubby to drive me around and look at the Christmas lights. I am also grateful for being here and working on good health. Recently I was diagnosed with sleep apnoea and am on therapy. It’s like being reborn. I am now getting quality sleep and have so much energy! It’s only going to get better. Your blog is so positive and inspiring. I wish you and yours all the very best for Christmas and look forward to following your adventures in 2018.
Brilliant! Looking forward to next years Wraps. Have a great festive season and cherish every living moment. I am convinced the tough bits are there to help in some way.
Merry Christmas to you Jen and your family. Hope your trifle is delishus! Trifle is our Boxing Day hangover food. Enjoy swimming and resting. Thanks for providing entertainment, love and interesting blogging for 2017. Hope you’re not on the Naughty List!
My mouth watered when you mentioned trifle. So delish at Christmas. Although my breakfast of choice every years is baileys and ice lol.
I have bought a couple of different dresses I have seen you wear but I have to say I am now TOTALLY in Love with the red kaftan in this blog. OMG. How friggin gorgeous is it. Probably way out of my price range but it is amaIng.
Merry Christmas to you and yours and I hope you have an absolutely amazing day Wednesday. My son lives in NZ and I found out he is coming home Christmas Eve. Every excited as first time in 2 years that I will have my 4 kids and 7 grandkids all together. They don’t all get on but tough they can suck it up for me on Christmas Day 😊
