Yesterday I headed to IKEA to pick up some frames for a couple of prints and while I was there had a little look around.
I stocked up on some water glasses that all match and took note of a few other pieces I have my eye on.
As I went to leave I spied this bench, I thought about the water bill that’s due this week,(for a whole 15 seconds) then picked up the box and made my purchase.
I am an impulse shopper I admit it but I’ve actually been on the hunt for a bench for my entrance way for a while now. We used to have this console in the entry but I recently moved it into the lounge area.
We also have this antique dresser in a corner of our entrance, it’s been several different colours in the 20 years we’ve had it but we’ve always kept the drawers and shelves natural.
So with the console gone I was on the lookout for a vintage bench. I wanted something low, narrow and white. Well this bench was $89 and fits the bill perfectly.
Ok it’s not vintage but does fit in with the coastal feel of our home.
I created a vignette on one end that is sure to change regularly and added the storage baskets underneath. We’ve had these baskets for years and they fit nicely.
I love texture like smooth glass, the rattan crochet runner and the sea grass rug and elements of nature like shells, timber and coral.
My style is a little eclectic but the beachy elements, timbers and sea foam green and white colours are what tie it all together.
Now we need to save some dollars to replace the front door and security door!
Oh and guess what, I did buy one frame but left it in the trolley!! It cost a whole $7.95. I’m sure someone is enjoying it.
