Brought to you by Bella Bodies.
I love it when women email me with their queries, and I love it even more when I can actually help out but there’s one question I get asked ALOT that I really struggle with. Where can I get a comfy wire free bra?
Ahhh that old chestnut, the elusive comfy wire free bra. When I was younger I thought wire free bras were for nanas, they were a bit nasty looking and usually made from scratchy lace, ewww.
The times are a changin’
These days I’m all for the wire free bra, not all the time but there’s definitely days I love them. Like when I’m working from home with no one to see, or when I pop to the supermarket or sometimes when it’s hot and my scars swell a wire free bra brings me some relief.
My double breast reconstruction means I have lots of scar tissue, damaged nerves and every single day it feels like I have one hundred rubber bands wrapped around my torso, kinda like wearing the tightest bra ever ALL the time. It’s a bit shit actually but always worse when travelling and in the heat of summer.
So when Bella Bodies told me that were going to make a pretty, supportive and comfy wire free bra I applauded, raised an eyebrow and secretly wondered if it could ever be done.
Well ladies, they bloody did it! I tried it, liked it and so I’m sharing 🙂
Now let’s not confuse the Ruby Collection lace wire free bra with the wire free bamboo bras that you all go Gaga for, this new lace number looks and sits like a bra, not a crop top. However if that’s the look you are after we all know how fabulous the original bamboo bra and bralette is.
Wire free can be pretty too.
The Bella Bodies wire free bra has an adjustable back and will support your breasts, all while looking so very pretty. I’m a fan of the scalloped edging on the cup and the band, very feminine. Don’t be fooled by her good looks though, there’s technology behind the lace and the construction, which is why it works!
She’s also a bra with a conscience, well at least the purchase is. Did you know the Bella bodies are a corporate supporter of The National Breast Cancer Foundation Australia? Well they are and for every bra sold Bella bodies donate one dollar to NBCF, where funds go to important research to help end cancer and create better outcome for patients. Now that I like!!
So why do women like wire free bras?
-no uncomfortable wires
-great for travel
-gentle on nerve damage
-pregnancy
-improved lymph drainage
-because they are comfy womfy!
But what we don’t like is a wire free bra that makes our boobs like stretched, droopy water balloons or the uniboob look, we want support! Well check this out….
Not bad hey! I’m not saying the level of support will be the same for everyone, but I was pleasantly surprised at the support it did give me. What I’ve noticed about this bra is the stretch lace has pretty ace support and I can also lengthen or tighten the bra straps depending on the level of ‘lift’ I require. It’s also just bloody soft to wear, no irritation on my nerve damage. Be gone daggy, scratchy nana lace.

I have had two bras with wires break the wires whilst out and unable to do anything except suffer the pain, so love this.
Where do I buy them and do you know an approximate price?
have a great day Jen x

You’re welcome lovely, that nerve damage is a bitch…take care
So pretty! I’m a wire girl during the day but these would be perfect for Home and casual days!
Absolutely, when your boobs need to feel held in but not held hostage ?
Thank you. I’ve just ordered one and look forward to receiving it – can’t wait to be comfortable for summer!
Let me know how it goes Georgia x
Oh dear looks like smaller cup sizes only! This is the problem if you are more tha a DD. Wire free just can’t handle the weight! Even with wires I still have divers in my shoulders from the straps and itchy rashes underneath from perspiration!? still I will check them out in hopes of larger cups ?
Yeah it’s a bit of an issue with wire free and larger breasts…getting that support right. I hope you find one x
Hi Jen, are you wearing your normal size in this bra? I usually wear a 14G (fitted at buxom envy) but I’m measuring a 16D with the measurement scale on Bella bodies.
Hi Jo I wear different sizes in most of my bras depending on brand
Hi Jen, i want to say a big thank you to you for recommending the new wire free bra, it is amazing i would have never believed a bra would be so comfortable.
Hi Marie? I’m so pleased you love it!
